“KISS,” a work for three dancers, evolved alongside Prince’s posthumously released album Piano & A Microphone 1983. Choreographed by Kasia Wolińska and premiered during the 2022 SENSE series at Radialsystem, the piece celebrates dance as a powerful, joyous expression of life. Drawing inspiration from Prince's effortless mastery of diverse aesthetics and the album's rich musical tapestry, the choreography establishes a dynamic framework for the intricate interplay between the dancers' bodies and their connection to the audience's physical and affective experience. It masterfully explores a range of techniques, qualities, and legacies of dance, reviving its emotional resonance and musicality. The result is a vibrant, shared experience of movement and connection, brimming with energy and rhythm.
