The research on horizontality, death and slow violence was being developed throughout 2 years of theoretical study and artistic practice. The physicality of fall, of hitting the ground to never be back to veriticality is a matter for exploration in order to mobilize the body into action that will ultimately revive the fallen bodies and will bring them into presence and visibility. Thanks to Centro Selva in Peru and transeuropa Festival in Germany, the research evolved into a series of events and interventions that tried to create horizontally constructed spaces of knowledge re-distribution and affectivity that was there to ultimately question our global positioning and our responsibilities within the large network of global co-dependencies. Through the analysis of different scales, spatialities and temporalities of violence I was attempting to employ choreographic practice for the sake of changing the register from which we speak about the ecological disaster, environmental injustice and slow dying of the land, communities and stories. Horizontality emerged as strategy of resistance - taking an advantage of the dominant vericality of power and subverting it from the bottom. Lying down as reaction to loss. Temporality of the low seems to be radically different, at times, from the upright march of the emancipated species, darwinism and its influence on social and biological legitimization of human domination over non-humans or less-humans. Stillness that comes after the fall suggests the vibration that comes with flux and transformation of things still living, the movement of capital, of bodies, of ideas. Horizontality opens up perhaps not only broad spectrum of alternative modes of relationality and inter-dependencies but it allows the shift: into observation, reception, listening. When experienced as durational practice it slowly unfolds its revolutionary potential and its political relevance in attempting to reverse the effects of slow violence and slow dying out of the planet.
